Spurring Exports In The New Norm MATRADE Core Purpose 79 01 02 03 04 05 The Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) is a tripartite collaboration to transform potential economies towards promoting cross-border trade. Having adopted the eCommerce agenda, the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia (KKMM), as the secretariat to IMT-GT is responsible for developing a dedicated portal for each country's eCommerce platform hosted on the IMT-GT website (http: // imtgt.org/imt-gt-e-commerce). Through this portal, SMEs and microentrepreneurs can market their goods and services to IMT-GT countries online. Training modules are also provided to equip SMEs with eCommerce entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. The launch of the eCommerce platform which can be accessed through the IMT-GT portal is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021. MATRADE plays an active part in the eCommerce Platform Development Project Implementation Team which also aims to increase the use of eCommerce among SMEs and micro-entrepreneurs in the country. eCOMMERCE COLLABORATION ASEAN Online Sales Day Under MITI’s purview, MATRADE and MDEC collaborated with the ASEAN Coordinating Committee on eCommerce (ACCEC) in organising the ASEAN Online Sales Day on 8 August 2020, which aimed to help Malaysian SMEs increase exports and promote their products and services through eCommerce throughout ASEAN countries. A total of six countries participated in this campaign, namely Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
