MATRADE Annual Report 2020 64 Construction & Business Services Sectors Various Sectors MATRADE participated in the International Built Environment Week (IBEW) 2020 trade fair which was held from 1 - 30 September 2020. MATRADE's participation in this virtual exhibition aimed to promote Malaysian building materials in the Asia Pacific region as well as expand trade networks between Malaysian and foreign companies. MATRADE organised the virtual #MyAPEC2020 Exhibition in conjunction with Malaysia hosting the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference. The event featured an interactive e-business platform comprising four main components namely virtual exhibition, business matching and pitching sessions as well as webinars. #MyAPEC2020 Exhibition featured Malaysian as well as international companies from 21 APEC economies. Participating companies were focused on 8 targeted sectors namely Technology, Green Technology & Energy, Healthcare, Professional & Business Services, Transport & Logistics, Lifestyle, Food & Beverages and Agrobased Products as well as Building Materials. These sectors were in line A total of four Malaysian companies participated in this exhibition. MATRADE organised 20 business matching sessions via digital platforms between Malaysian and foreign companies. Among products with potential were adhesives, playground equipment, lighting products and traffic light data management systems. with APEC 2020’s theme, “Optimising Human Potential towards a Resilient Future of Shared Prosperity: Pivot. Prioritise. Progress.” Focus areas were Improving Narratives for Trade and Investment, Inclusive Economic Participation through Digital Economy and Technology as well as Driving Innovative Sustainability. In total, #MyAPEC2020 Exhibition successfully promoted products and services worldwide from 274 exhibitors and attrated more than 8,000 visitors from 90 countries.
