This is the first time MATRADE coordinated participation of Malaysian aerospace companies in the Singapore Airshow held from 11 - 16 February 2020 at the Changi Exhibition Centre, Singapore. Malaysia's participation provided exposure to local players on new technologies and partnership opportunities with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) as well as Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers from around the world. This is part of MATRADE's ongoing efforts to increase exports of high impact products and services, and create opportunities for local aerospace companies to be part of the global supply chain. A total of 12 companies were expected to participate in the Malaysia Pavilion during this exhibition. However, due to the spread of COVID-19 in Singapore, most companies withdrew at the last minute leaving only six Malaysian companies to participate, namely Sapura Aerospace Technologies Sdn Bhd, T7 Kilgour Sdn Bhd, Jaga Systems Sdn Bhd, Global SAR Resources Sdn Bhd, Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd and Invest Selangor Berhad. A total of 305 business matching sessions were successfully organised with representatives of leading aerospace companies headquartered in the Asian region.
