MATRADE Annual Report 2020 128 STRATEGIC PLANNING Strategic planning is a key aspect to chart the direction of an organisation to achieve its vision and mission. It is important for continuous improvements to be in line with the country's export development in driving international trade to greater heights. Competency of management is essential to formulate a comprehensive and flexible business strategic plan to enhance performance and steer MATRADE towards excellence. The Business Strategic Plan (BSP) is designed to position MATRADE as a credible, clientcentric and value creating Trade Promotion Organisation. BSP is a reference document to guide MATRADE’s operation to BUSINESS STRATEGIC PLAN ensure it is able to leverage on its strengths and organisational set-up as well as address its concerns, providing action plans to improve delivery system for Malaysian exporters to be globally competitive. BSP emphasised on five main thrusts, namely people, process, partnership, promotion and platform within the organisation framework. Among priority areas are enhancing database, use of internal systems, stakeholder management, service delivery and human resource management.
