Spurring Exports In The New Norm Management and Integrity, Internal Audit and Strategic Planning 127 01 02 03 04 05 LEGAL COMPLIANCE In carrying out its organisational responsibilities, MATRADE established a Legal Unit to ensure all actions taken are in accordance with the law under the Federal Constitution, laws under the jurisdiction of the ministry as well as other written laws in Malaysia and internationally, taking into account government policies and public interest. It aims to ensure that legal documents such as agreements, memoranda of understanding (MoU), legal notices and others do not contravene any law to protect the rights and interests of MATRADE. In 2020, the Legal Unit examined and reviewed a total of 157 domestic and foreign legal documents involving agreements and MoUs.
