Platform • International presence; • Emphasis on strategic platforms; and • Active participation in the digital economy The scope of BSP encompasses all MATRADE Divisions where work processes and activities planned and implemented are aligned and based on the objective of realising set aspirations. STRATEGIC PLANNING RELATED TO INVESTMENTS OF MALAYSIAN COMPANIES OVERSEAS MATRADE is responsible for assisting and monitoring Malaysian investments abroad for purposes of market access. Based on information received from companies as well as secondary sources, Malaysian companies' investments abroad amounted to RM1,059.55 billion. Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe are the largest investment destinations for Malaysian companies. The energy sector attracted the largest investment, followed by the services sector, as well as property development and management. It is important to analyse Malaysian strategic investment overseas in order to identify potential and opportunities to increase the country's exports through the supply of goods and services to Malaysian companies operating abroad. Malaysian exporters of goods and services are advised to leverage on the presence of Malaysian companies abroad to offer their goods or services.
