MATRADE Annual Report 2020 120 Kelab MATRADE which was established on 3 May 1994 aims to strengthen relations among MATRADE staff. Kelab MATRADE regularly organises recreational, sports, welfare, travel, religious and social activities for all MATRADE staff. It also provides facilities and amenities to carry out such activities. The club is an excellent platform for employees to highlight leadership and management talents beyond regular scope of work. Rakan Pembimbing Perkhidmatan Awam (AKRAB) are officers appointed to carry out responsibilities outlined in the Self-Empowerment Programme, Circular No. 18 of 2005, namely the Application of Psychology in Human Resource Management under the peer counseling programme. The implementation of AKRAB is based on the concept of "friends helping friends" by fostering team spirit, familiarity, harmony and mutual respect for each other's potential. In 2020, AKRAB MATRADE had a total of 17 members from various levels of MATRADE officers and staff, including three new members who were newly appointed. KELAB MATRADE AKRAB In 2020, Kelab MATRADE members participated in several sports tournaments before the government announced closure of all social, sports and recreational activities in March 2020. Among tournaments participated in were MAKSWIP 2020 Darts Championship, Bandar Tun Razak Parliament Open Doubles 2020 Darts Championship, MAKSWIP Table Tennis Tournament, and Fire and Rescue Department Open Bowling Tournament. Kelab MATRADE continued to carry out programmes to inculcate spiritual values following social distancing guidelines. Kuliah Zohor Mingguan, To upskill AKRAB members, a workshop was conducted from 4 - 6 September 2020 in collaboration with the Psychology Management Division, Public Service Department. This workshop aimed to provide new skills to members as well as improve on existing knowledge among AKRAB members. regular Solat Hajat, weekly Bacaan Yaasin as well as Art Classes were implemented virtually. Welfare of MATRADE staff was also given priority by welcoming new members to the MATRADE family, recognising excellence in education for the children of members as well as remembering the loss of loved ones. Kelab MATRADE held its 28th General Meeting on 28 August 2020 with a new line of committee members (AJK) being appointed. With the cooperation of MITI, AKRAB members also participated in the AKRAB MITI visit to Pulau Perhentian from 14-16 September 2020 to participate in a corporate social responsibility programme and training related to self-empowerment.
