Spurring Exports In The New Norm Management and Integrity, Internal Audit and Strategic Planning 119 01 02 03 04 05 Although the pandemic impacted work and posed new challenges in the execution of tasks, the year 2020 witnessed several initiatives as follows: 1. Sanitation of Menara MATRADE The initiative to conduct sanitation operations at Menara MATRADE was implemented as a preventive measure in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first sanitation operation was conducted from 24 - 29 March 2020 involving the entire Menara MATRADE and TASKA Nur Ifty. The second operation for selected office spaces at Menara MATRADE and Taska Nur Ifty was conducted between 5 and 12 December 2020. 2. Majlis Bersama Jabatan (MBJ) Majlis Bersama Jabatan (MBJ) is a platform for employees to voice issues related to services as well as provide opinions through representatives appointed by management. In 2020, three MBJ sessions were conducted. Among suggestions for improvements discussed were: • Development of guidelines for staff working from home (WFH); • Establishment of an online system for internal work processes notably preparation of memos and financial documents (form P and appendix A); and • Improvement and expansion of scope in relation to MATRADE medical facilities. 3. Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) The Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) was established as the first respondents in the event of an emergency at Menara MATRADE. Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, BERT was involved in the sanitation operation for Menara MATRADE which was held on 24 - 29 March 2020 together with the appointed contractor.
