MATRADE Annual Report 2020 118 CORPORATE ADMINISTRATION Exceptional governance and quality work culture are crucial foundations in increasing public confidence towards MATRADE in implementing its mandated policies. MATRADE continues to take steps to strengthen organisational, human resource and budget management as well as integrity, internal audit, strategic planning and information technology to ensure its employees uphold principles, accountability and adopt strategic thinking towards achieving a better delivery system. Organisational administration is essential in providing support and governance needed by the entire MATRADE network and its employees. These tasks encompass planning, coordination and regulation of resources and assets to ensure operations are at optimum level. MATRADE received recognition of MS ISO 9001: 2015 certification for the first time on 7 October 2019. For 2020, SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd has accredited the certification that was received during the SPK ISO 9001: 2015 Surveillance Audit Session on 17 and 18 September 2020. MATRADE’s intention with SPK MS ISO 9001: 2015 is to ensure that the work processes carried out remain consistent and systematic in accordance with ADMINISTRATION requirements and ISO International Standards. Risk management based on SPK is also established as a guideline to curb and control risks involving key work processes and support. Accreditation of this ISO certification will further consolidate MATRADE’s credibility and reputation as a worldclass government agency. MATRADE always emphasises aspects of excellence and effectiveness in service delivery based on SPK in meeting the needs of customers and stakeholders. The year 2020 was a period that saw the country face challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the work environment and led to the creation of rigorous regulatory procedures intended towards maintaining the safety and health of MATRADE staff.
