MATRADE Annual Report 2020 98 In 2020, the Mid-tier Companies Development Programme (MTCDP) benefited 47 companies in their development as competitive and sustainable mid-tier companies (MTC) capable of regional and global exports. MTC that have been assisted by MATRADE were selected from various industrial sectors from all over the country. They consisted of companies from the manufacturing sector with sales value between RM50 million to RM500 million and services sector with sales value between RM20 million to RM500 million. Main benefits gained by MTC during this programme include: • Expert advisory services and sessions with global market, product and service consultants; • Export strategies to increase market and export growth individually; MID-TIER COMPANIES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME • Specialisation workshops and forums that cover aspects of industrial skills development to enhance business capabilities, and • Market exploration possibilities and access to business networks or importers through business matching sessions, market absorption, pitching sessions and strategic collaborations. A digital marketing element was added this year as a pilot module, involving 10 MTC in an 8-week programme. Selected companies were assisted in formulating digital marketing strategies, selecting digital platforms and implementing two export campaigns to identified target markets.
