Spurring Exports In The New Norm Management and Integrity, Internal Audit and Strategic Planning 131 01 02 03 04 05 MATRADE is constantly improving efficiency in service delivery by focusing on communication effectiveness. Improvement of an effective communication system is not only focused on work systems and processes, but also to enhance relationships between the organisation, customers and stakeholders. Various initiatives and programmes have been planned and implemented by MATRADE to meet the growing needs and expectations of customers. A wide range of public relations (PR) initiatives have been implemented such as press conferences and press releases on export promotion and exporters development programmes for local and international media. Promotional activities on social media are also implemented via Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. The Star Outstanding Business Award (SOBA) To strengthen the MATRADE brand, MATRADE has partnered with The Star since 2016 as the official trade promotion partner for The Star Outstanding Business Award (SOBA). This programme aims to give recognition to the business community in Malaysia based on contribution to the country's economic growth. SOBA enables MATRADE to forge closer ties with the media and SMEs from various industries. It is an excellent platform to interact with more SMEs to publicise the functions and roles of MATRADE in promoting the country's exports while encouraging them to penetrate international markets. STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION Export Excellence Awards (EEA) The year 2020 earmarked MATRADE’s second stint as patron to the Export Excellence Awards (EEA) jointly organised by The Star Media Group and Standard Chartered. This award aims to deliver recognition to Malaysian exporters and further help MATRADE inspire and encourage companies to work harder to increase the nation's exports. Putra Brand Awards MATRADE also supports the Putra Brand Awards organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) together with Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), Media Specialists and the Malaysian Digital Association. MATRADE's support for this event emphasises the importance of branding among Malaysian exporters in enhancing the competitiveness of their products and services. The BrandLaureate Awards In 2020, MATRADE received The BrandLaureate 2019-2020 award under the SMEs Strategic Business Partners of the Decade category. This award recognises MATRADE for its enthusiasm and commitment in assisting Malaysian companies to penetrate the international market.
