MATRADE Annual Report 2020 122 In line with MATRADE's vision and mission, human resource development is steered towards talent development initiatives based on analysis of training needs and performance appraisals which encompasses MATRADE's core values; Global, Respect, Agile, Creative and Ethical (GRACE). COMPETENCY AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT MATRADE's human resource development aims to create an efficient and high-performing workforce for a more effective service delivery to all stakeholders. In 2020, a total of 148 talent development programmes were organised either virtually or in person. MATRADE carried out 13 internship placements for students of higher learning institutions in 2020 as one of many initiatives to empower youths with international trade knowledge and skills. 2020 Annual Course Breakdown Public and Private Courses Overseas Online Courses AKRAB In-House 37% 19% 1% 1% 42% In 2020, MATRADE succeeded in achieving 100% excellence in key performance indicators of the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) set by the Public Service Department. The online appraisal system featuring GRACE was implemented since 2019 to allow for more effective and efficient performance appraisals. For talent and competency development, MATRADE plans to integrate the online appraisal system with Talent Management System which is currently under development and expected to be completed in 2022.
