MATRADE Annual Report 2020 100 MATRADE offers trade advisory and support services required by Malaysian companies to explore overseas markets. MATRADE also responds to trade enquiries received from the business community including importers. MATRADE is a focal point for the local exporting community which includes manufacturers, traders and service providers as it offers trade advisory services related to exports. MATRADE also assists foreign importers from around the world to source for products and services from Malaysia. MATRADE provides market information, trade advisory and support services to complement promotion activities organised through outreach programmes such as information counters at international conferences and exhibitions in Malaysia. MATRADE also conducts talks at local seminars and conferences either organised in-house or by other government agencies and the private sector. MATRADE organises at least two “MATRADE Export Day” programmes annually at different locations throughout Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak. This is to meet with the business community and bring MATRADE closer to ensure companies utilise MATRADE's services extensively in penetrating the international market. In 2020, MATRADE participated in 27 outreach activities and attended to a total of 2,265 specific enquiries on international trade. ADVISORY SERVICES MATRADE also operates Malaysia Exporters Registry (MER), a database that collects information of Malaysian companies registered with MATRADE, whether exporting or ready to export. This database will be constantly updated by the company or MATRADE from time to time. It is also utilised to disseminate information on programmes and services offered by MATRADE, including market intelligence. Membership is free and registration can be done online.
