MATRADE Annual Report 2020 88 BIC services have benefited a total of 1,017 visitors from the business community. A total of 981 enquiries for trade information were received and acted on by its staff professionally either through physical meetings, phone calls, emails or communication applications. BIC also carried out eight briefings and guided tours for 269 visitors. BIC organised various programmes and training sessions for the business community, namely: a. 10 Information Skills Literacy and Training Programmes as well as two Outreach and On-ground Programmes were organised with the participation of 483 entrepreneurs and MATRADE officers. b. Dissemination of the latest in information sources through internal publications, namely: i. New and Now@BIC List of current information sources such as books and magazines, country and company profiles, market reports and articles from foreign and domestic magazines. ii. GoodReads@BIC List of current information sources on topics such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on economic trends, trade developments and others. iii. Booklicious@BIC A collection of leisure reading materials to raise the reading culture among MATRADE officers and their family members. BIC is also equipped with other facilities and amenities including a friendly and conducive reading and reference space, high quality printing and photocopying services, professional customer service and WiFi facilities.
