Spurring Exports In The New Norm MATRADE Core Purpose 57 01 02 03 04 05 MATRADE’s network of 46 overseas offices act as trade advisors to offer consultation to importers and industry players while providing market intelligence. Information distributed to exporters encompasses reports, product and market studies in the form of Market Alerts (MA), Product Market Study (PMS) and Trade Leads, which can be accessed via the MyExport digital platform. MATRADE also produces various publications such as MATRADE Insight (MI) to disseminate market intelligence and Exclusive from Malaysia (EFM) to promote Malaysian companies in the international market. Commercially driven materials can also be subscribed and accessed online via MATRADE’s Business Information Centre (BIC). Purpose 4 is to enhance the national export plan through the preparation of the National Trade Blueprint (NTBp) study, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of Malaysia's exports in the global market. This involves monitoring and coordinating all aspects of the country's export ecosystem. MATRADE is also responsible for coordinating all export promotion programmes organised by Ministries and Agencies through its role as Secretariat to the Export Promotion Programmes Coordination Committee (JK-X). These efforts are intended to achieve better synergy between Ministries, Agencies and the private sector in accelerating the country’s exports. Purpose 5 aims to build export readiness where MATRADE implements programmes to facilitate local companies in their preparation to explore export opportunities abroad. This involves business training, upskilling, networking, international exposure, leadership as well as entrepreneurship coaching to enable local business entities to be more resilient and sustainable internationally. MATRADE provides advisory services to exporters through its network of regional offices nationwide. In view of the efforts to digitalise exports, MATRADE also offers grants and funds to Malaysian companies to promote their products and services globally through listings on international eCommerce platforms. Purpose 6 is to expand the exporting community by offering trade advisory and support services needed by Malaysian companies to explore overseas markets. MATRADE also responds to trade enquiries received from the business community including importers. Purpose 7 is to provide specific support to Malaysian companies in the form of grants and incentives to prepare them to penetrate the export market. These grants and funds will enable companies to strengthen their competitiveness and increase export promotion activities. MATRADE's overseas offices are also tasked with assisting Malaysian exporters through trade and industry related consultations as well as arranging business matching with importers of products and services. Purpose 8 strengthens brand Malaysia where exporters can benefit from promotional activities of products and services to the global market. These promotions can be implemented through the use of facilities and exhibition spaces namely Malaysia Export Exhibition Centre (MEEC), as well as organising the #MyAPEC 2020 Exhibition and participation in CAEXPO 2020.
